What to do when you're not studying

The college experience isn’t entirely comprised of studying for exams and spending long hours in the library. In fact, one of the best aspects of college is the amount of free time you’re afforded. A majority of students take 15 credit hours, which breaks down to 5 classes. That means you could wind up having only 1 class per day, or having block days where you take a majority of your courses Monday, Wednesday, and Friday leaving two days totally free. So what should you do with this free time? Have fun!

Obviously, studying is extremely important and you should devote time each and every day to your school work but it shouldn’t be the only activity you partake in. Relaxing and having fun are just as important to your life as working on that big project. Just remember the ‘ol adage, all work and no play makes Jack or Jane a dull person (gotta be androgynous for the PC police).

So what should you do to have fun? Well here are some good ideas….

Love watching television shows? Then check out this program that enables you to watch satellite TV from your computer:

How about movies? This program enables you to download movies, both new and old...

This is rhe best music download site on the net...

Video games are a great way to pass the time in a fun manner. Here is a program that allows you to download both classic and brand new games...

Another great way to have fun and entertain yourself is to get involved in an extracurricular activity or club. Colleges offer a myriad of clubs and student organizations that are open to the general student population. For example, the college newspaper or the Student Government Association are great organizations that provide an enjoyable atmosphere while learning new skills. Not only can joining a club or organization be fun, but they also look great on a transcript. It displays multi-faceted skills and the willingness to do more than most.

Whatever you decide to do, just remember to have fun. College shouldn’t be a stressful experience…at least not all of the time.
